Help Keep Glen Allen Animals Safe This October

Did you know that October is National Animal Safety and Protection Month? This is a time of the year set aside by The PALS Foundation to improve the safety and lives of animals all year. At Short Pump Animal Hospital we look forward to meeting your animal family members in and around Glen Allen.

Animal Safety is Important

This event is a great excuse to enjoy your pets and find clever ways to keep them safe. And the event is not just for your pets, it is to improve the safety of animals in general. So if you don't have a pet of your own, or if you feel they cannot get any more spoiled then it is a great excuse to contribute your time or resources to a local shelter who could use some extra effort.

The month is not only about pets either, if you have a favorite wild animal it is a great time to donate to their cause, take a child to visit the animal at a sanctuary or zoo and spread awareness of the plight of the species. The month is to benefit animals and there are no rules, just find a way for you to help animals in a way that fits into your lifestyle.

Social media is another simple way to spread awareness and help your favorite animal in October. Share animal facts, cute pictures, links to fundraisers, or tips for pet care. Fall is a great time to spread the word for your favorite animal cause.
